The Hornbill Foundation has been working with the Kadar indigenous community in Vazhachal-Malakkapara part of Anamalais of Western Ghats with support from the Forest, Tribal, Revenue Departments and Panchayat on right based conservation, empowerment and Education since 2004. This site is to provide resources available on Community Forest Resource (CFR) and it management under the Forest Right Act (FRA) 2006. This was Developed with the support of CED and CEPF ATREE Western Ghats Small Grant Programme 2012.


One day training on FRA emphasizing on Community Rights and CFR management for Forest Staff and FRA GS members on 21st January 2015 at Forest Dormitory, Vazhachal.Programme started at 10 am. CFR Workshop at Delhi

Grama sabha members from Vazhachal and Malakkapara participated a workshop at Delhi on 16th December 2014 organized by Kalpavriksha.
The Forest Department facilitated formation of the CFR Management Committees in Anakkayam and Sholayar Kadar Grama Sabhas on 22nd November 2014.
